WHY Choose THINK AFRICA TRAVEL?
Planning an African safari can feel complicated. There are hundreds of camps and lodges, different wildlife regions, seasonal changes, light aircraft connections, border crossings, and countless ways to combine destinations.
That is where Think Africa Travel makes the difference.
Based in Maun, the gateway to Botswana’s Okavango Delta, Think Africa Travel combines decades of safari experience with local knowledge, trusted industry relationships, and personalised service. Every journey is carefully designed around the traveller rather than selected from a standard itinerary. The company’s current page also confirms its long-standing Botswana base and wider supplier network across Southern Africa.
Whether you are planning your first safari, a family adventure, a honeymoon, a private mobile safari, or a multi-country African journey, our team helps turn a collection of destinations into one seamless safari experience.
Local African Safari Expertise
Think Africa Travel is based in Maun, placing our team close to the Okavango Delta and at the heart of Botswana’s safari industry. This local presence gives us a practical understanding of the destinations, camps, transfers, and safari experiences we recommend. Furthermore, our team maintains close relationships with safari operators and accommodation partners across Botswana and Southern Africa. As a result, our advice is based on genuine destination knowledge rather than simply selecting properties from a booking system.
Tailor-Made Safari Experiences
No two travellers are exactly alike. Therefore, no two safaris should need to be identical. We design flexible, tailor-made itineraries around your interests, travel style, budget, and available time. These may include family safaris, honeymoons, private mobile camping adventures, wildlife photography, birding, luxury fly-in safaris, or journeys combining several African destinations. Think Africa Travel’s current offering already spans these different travel styles and safari regions. Furthermore, we consider the flow of the entire journey. Choosing the right camps is important, but so is combining destinations that offer different landscapes, wildlife, and activities. Ultimately, the aim is to create a safari that feels designed for you.
The Right Safari Camps for You
The most expensive lodge is not automatically the right lodge. Some travellers dream of gliding through the Okavango Delta in a mokoro. Others want exceptional predator sightings, walking safaris, family-friendly accommodation, private plunge pools, or a camp where they can simply slow down and enjoy the wilderness. Because Think Africa Travel works with a broad network of camps, lodges, and hotels, we can recommend properties according to the experience you want from your safari. The current Think Africa site reflects an extensive portfolio across Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Zambia. As a result, your itinerary is built around the right combination of destinations and experiences rather than a single lodge brand or safari operator.
Trusted Safari Relationships
Strong relationships matter in African travel.
Think Africa Travel has long-standing connections with leading safari camps, lodges, hotels, and tourism partners across Southern Africa. Furthermore, these relationships provide valuable logistical support when coordinating complex safari itineraries. From light aircraft transfers and road connections to accommodation and safari activities, many individual arrangements must work together. Therefore, our team carefully coordinates each part of your journey to create a smooth and well-planned safari experience.
On-the-Ground Support
One of the greatest advantages of travelling with Think Africa Travel is having support from a team based in Africa. Our Maun location means we remain closely connected to the destinations and safari operators with whom we work. In addition, the current Think Africa service includes meeting clients on arrival and departure at Maun International Airport and providing ongoing support during their stay. If travel arrangements change or assistance is needed, you are not simply dealing with an anonymous international booking platform. Instead, you have a safari team with local knowledge and established industry relationships behind your journey.
Seamless Multi-Country Safaris
Southern Africa offers extraordinary opportunities to combine several destinations within a single journey. You may begin among the waterways of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, continue to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe or Zambia, and then explore the deserts of Namibia. However, combining countries requires careful planning. Flights, transfers, luggage restrictions, border crossings, and travel times all need to work together. Think Africa Travel’s current supplier network extends across Botswana, South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Zambia, supporting the planning of multi-country itineraries. Consequently, our team considers the complete journey rather than treating each destination as a separate booking.
Independent Safari Advice
Think Africa Travel works with a wide range of safari operators, camps, lodges, and hotels. This allows our safari planners to compare different options and recommend accommodation based on your individual needs and travel style. The company describes its advice as impartial and has operated since 1992. Furthermore, we understand that safari budgets vary considerably. Therefore, our role is to help you make informed choices about where to spend, where to save, and which experiences matter most to your journey. The result is a safari designed around you rather than around a predetermined product.
Experience You Can Trust
Think Africa Travel was established in 1992 and is a licensed inbound tour operator registered with Botswana’s Department of Tourism. The company is also a subsidiary of Chobe Holdings Limited, which is listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange. Furthermore, Think Africa Travel is a long-standing member of the Hospitality and Tourism Association of Botswana. These established industry connections are supported by decades of hands-on safari and tourism experience within the team. As a result, travellers benefit from professional safari planning combined with genuine regional knowledge.

At Think Africa Travel, Martha supports booking processes, manages pre- and post-travel arrangements, and assists with guest arrivals and departures. Her attention to detail ensures a smooth and enjoyable travel experience.
Responsible African Travel
A safari depends on the protection of Africa’s wildlife, wilderness areas, and communities. Therefore, Think Africa Travel works with safari operators committed to conservation, responsible tourism, and community development. The company’s own responsible-travel positioning and current planning content emphasise these principles. By choosing responsible safari partners, travel can contribute to the protection of wildlife habitats while supporting the people and communities connected to these remarkable destinations. Furthermore, our team can help travellers choose safari experiences that align with their own values and interests.
Why Travel With Think Africa Travel?
Ultimately, planning an African safari is about far more than booking a collection of hotels and flights.
