Camelthorn Lodge Botswana is situated in one of Hwange’s last remaining, well-protected and unspoilt acacia woodlands. The lodge lies within a private concession in the Tsholotsho Communal Area, bordering the south-eastern edge of Hwange National Park and the renowned Ngamo Plains.
As a result, the setting offers both exclusivity and access to exceptional wildlife areas.
Lodge Experience & Setting
An ancient camelthorn tree forms the dramatic centrepiece of the lodge, around which the property is thoughtfully designed. This unique feature creates a strong sense of place and connection to the surrounding environment. In addition, the surrounding woodlands are rich in birdlife and smaller wildlife. Bushbuck, mongooses, and a variety of colourful birds are frequently seen around the lodge.
Accommodation at Camelthorn Lodge Botswana
The lodge accommodates guests in just eight spacious rooms, ensuring an intimate and exclusive experience. Each room features a fireplace, an en-suite bathroom with both bath and shower, and a private ground-level deck.
Furthermore, every room includes a canopy-level balcony accessed via a spiral staircase. These elevated decks feature hammocks, offering a peaceful space to relax among the treetops.
Wildlife Experience
A standout feature of Camelthorn Lodge Botswana is the underground photographic hide at a nearby waterhole, located less than a kilometre from the lodge.
