kwetsani camp
Kwetsani Camp is perched above the floodplains of the Okavango Delta, tucked into a lush grove of mangosteen, fig and palm trees. Built on stilts and elevated walkways, the camp provides panoramic views of seasonal wetlands and open plains dotted with lechwe and wildebeest. Its treehouse design creates a sense of seclusion and immersion in the treetops while offering easy access to the vast wilderness that surrounds it.
The camp accommodates guests in five elevated treehouse-style chalets, each crafted with a combination of thatch, timber and canvas. The gauze-covered windows and large French doors open onto private verandas, framing uninterrupted views of the floodplains. The rooms are spacious and light-filled, designed to allow cooling breezes to circulate, enhancing the natural ambience of the camp.
Kwetsani’s main lodge is also built on stilts, with a thatched roof and a large open viewing deck that looks out across the plains. A small splash pool with shaded loungers provides a perfect retreat during the heat of the day. The lounge and dining areas are stylish yet relaxed, with leather sofas, armchairs and a small library. A jackalberry tree grows through the camp’s well-stocked, self-service bar, blending the architecture with the natural surroundings. In the evening, lanterns and candles create a warm glow throughout camp, and dinner is often served al fresco under the stars, followed by fireside drinks and stories.
Facilities at Kwetsani Camp include:
- 5 elevated thatched chalets with canvas walls and private verandas
- Main lodge with viewing deck, lounge, dining area and library
- Self-service bar built around a jackalberry tree
- Splash pool with sun loungers and umbrellas
- Campfire area for evening relaxation
- Raised walkways connecting rooms and central areas

- Sleepouts available on raised platforms for adventurous guests

ACTIVITIES
Kwetsani Camp offers a wide range of seasonal activities based on the annual flood patterns of the Okavango Delta. During the height of the flood (typically May to September), water-based activities dominate, with mokoro excursions and motorboat safaris navigating the lily-filled channels. These silent journeys offer intimate sightings of hippos, crocodiles, and water-adapted species like sitatunga and red lechwe.
As the waters recede, land-based game viewing takes centre stage. Guests can enjoy morning and afternoon game drives on nearby islands, reached by boat transfers during high flood periods. Predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog are frequently seen, alongside tsessebe, elephant, giraffe, zebra and a variety of antelope. Nocturnal drives offer the chance to spot lesser bushbabies, porcupines, aardwolves and genets.
Walking safaris are offered seasonally and provide a chance to explore palm-dotted islands on foot with a professional guide, focusing on tracks, birds and smaller species often missed on drives. For the adventurous, Kwetsani has two elevated hides that can be used for sleepouts, offering a unique overnight experience immersed in the sights and sounds of the Delta.
