Private Concession on a beautiful island in the South-East of the Okavango Delta
chitabe lediba camp
DISCOVER
chitabe lediba camp
Chitabe Lediba is a more intimate counterpart to the main Chitabe Camp, located just a short distance away on the same forested island within the Chitabe Concession. Overlooking the seasonal floodplains of the Okavango Delta, this smaller camp offers the same exceptional game-viewing opportunities, with the added benefit of a quiet, private atmosphere ideally suited to families or small groups.
With just five elevated Meru-style tents, Chitabe Lediba provides a highly personalised safari experience. Each spacious tent features en suite facilities and an outdoor shower, allowing guests to enjoy the natural surroundings in comfort and privacy. Two of the five tents are family units with adjoining bedrooms and shared bathrooms, making the camp a top choice for those travelling with children or close companions. All tents are positioned for views of the floodplain and the nearby waterhole, where wildlife frequently comes to drink.
The camp’s central gathering space is welcoming and relaxed, with elevated walkways connecting the tents to the main thatched lounge and dining area. A self-service bar, small library, and firepit deck invite guests to unwind between game drives. A swimming pool with views of the floodplain is the perfect place to cool off and observe wildlife in the heat of the day.
Facilities at Chitabe Lediba include:
- Five Meru-style tents, including two family units
- En suite bathrooms with outdoor showers
- Private decks overlooking the floodplain and waterhole
- Elevated main area with lounge, dining space, and firepit
- Self-service bar and library
- Swimming pool with shaded seating
Why choose Chitabe Lediba?
- Intimate camp setting ideal for families and small groups
- Access to the same wildlife-rich concession as Chitabe Camp
- Frequent sightings of big cats, wild dogs, and other iconic species
- Walking safaris and night drives for diverse game viewing
- Peaceful, exclusive atmosphere in a prime Delta location

ACTIVITIES
Guests at Chitabe Lediba enjoy the same extraordinary game-viewing experiences as those at the main Chitabe Camp, sharing access to the private Chitabe Concession. Game drives take place in the early morning and late afternoon, revealing a wide variety of species including elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, and wild dogs. The concession is particularly known for its predator sightings, offering exciting and often dramatic encounters.
Evening drives return after dark, offering guests the chance to spot shy nocturnal species such as porcupine, genet, serval, civet, and the elusive aardwolf. For a slower-paced, immersive experience, guided bush walks introduce guests to the finer details of the ecosystem—footprints, insects, bird calls, and medicinal plants—often overlooked from a vehicle.
Guests can also make use of two elevated hides in the Chitabe Concession, one within walking distance from camp. These peaceful platforms are perfect for quiet wildlife observation during the day and, for the adventurous, an unforgettable night under the stars.
