Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is a land-locked nation in southern Africa, bordered by Botswana to the west, Zambia to the north, Mozambique to the east and South Africa to the south. Its well-managed national parks and private conservancies rank among the continent’s finest, protecting diverse habitats from rugged escarpment to miombo woodlands dominated by brachystegia trees.

Victoria Falls is the country’s signature attraction and a gateway to an exceptional range of wildlife-viewing options. Travellers can choose day and night 4×4 game drives, walking and canoeing safaris, houseboat or motorboat excursions, and riverbank hideouts along the Zambezi. Mana Pools National Park is noted for regular sightings of African wild dog, while Matusadona offers opportunities to encounter both black and white rhinoceros. Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s largest reserve, supports some of Africa’s densest elephant populations as well as healthy numbers of lion, cheetah and other predators—delivering consistently rewarding vehicle-based game viewing.

Iconic features include the dramatic Chilojo Cliffs, rugged lowveld terrain, and abundant wildlife—from lions and wild dogs to sable, giraffe, and prolific birdlife.
