Itinerary

Day 1-2

Today from Maun airport, guests will be transferred to Leroo La Tau Lodge situated on a private concession west of the Makgadikgadi National Park for a 2 night stay on a fully inclusive basis.

Leroo La Tau is built on 15m high cliffs above the Boteti River, which gives guests opportunities for spectacular views and wildlife sightings from this raised vantage point. During the dry season, the Boteti area is populated by large herds of up to 30000 wildebeest and zebra, which have migrated south to the Makgadikgadi in search of grazing and, in turn, bring predator activity. Leroo La Tau offers guided game drives and boat excursions can be provided depending on the water levels of the Boteti River.

On this day after morning activity, time permitting guests will check out of Leroo La Tau for flight transfer to Xugana Island Lodge where they will stay for 3 nights on fully inclusive basis.

Xugana Lagoon, widely accepted as the most spectacular permanent water site in the Okavango Delta, has Xugana Island Lodge taking full advantage of this location. The permanent Delta is a world of crystal-clear waterways winding through vast reed and papyrus beds, tranquil lagoons and wooded islands. Xugana Island Lodge is in a perfect location to explore the magnificent wildlife that inhabits the Okavango Delta.

On this day after morning activity, time permitting guests will check out of Xugana Island Lodge for flight transfer to Xakanaxa airstrip from where they will be met and will be transferred by road to Camp Xakanaxa where they will stay for 3 nights on fully inclusive basis.

Camp Xakanaxa ‘s prime location on the banks of the Khwai River, in the heart of Moremi Game Reserve, ensures that it is one of the few safari camps which can provide guests with an authentic year-round Okavango Delta land and water safari experience. Comprehensive year-round boating and mokoro trips, as well as game drives into excellent wildlife country, combined with being one of the oldest and most well-established in the reserve, makes Xakanaxa a popular choice with guests. To the north and west of Camp Xakanaxa are the permanent lagoons and waterways of the Okavango Delta, and to the south and east are the dry woodlands. Birding is spectacular, especially during spring and summer when the migrants breed. Huge numbers of breeding storks and herons are attracted to the world-famous heronries, which lie north of Xakanaxa. Game viewing in open 4×4 vehicles offers guests the chance to see elephants, sable, giraffes, tsessebe, lechwe, wildebeest, kudu and impala, and the Moremi Game Reserve predators, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs and hyenas. Additional boating safaris across the Xakanaxa Lagoon are also offered from Camp Xakanaxa. Buffalo, hippo, crocodile, red lechwe, waterbuck and sitatunga antelope are some of the water-adapted species guests can expect to see at Xakanaxa. Professional, conservation-aware guides lead all activities. As Camp Xakanaxa is in the Moremi Game Reserve, it is not possible to take part in walking safaris, off-road driving, night drives or fishing.

On this day after morning activity, time permitting guests will check out of Camp Xakanaxa for flight transfer to Savute airstrip from where they will be met and will be transferred by road to Savute Safari Lodge where they will stay for 2 nights on fully inclusive basis.

Located on the banks of the Savuti Channel, Savute Safari Lodge offers an exclusive safari experience in the renowned Savuti area of Chobe National Park. Part of a dynamic ecosystem that is renowned for its concentration of elephants and large lion prides, Savute Safari Lodge offers guests a combination of luxury and comfort with a classic wilderness experience. Activities at Savute Safari Lodge concentrate on game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles. Savuti is famous for its lion prides, and during the summer months, when zebra herds cross the Savuti Marsh, lions are particularly active in this area. Guests can also request a visit to the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills.

Final day of the safari, guests will check out Savute Safari Lodge well on time for a connection flight to Maun Airport, end of safari.
