Namib Desert

Namib-Naukluft National Park is the largest conservation area in Namibia, encompassing 49,768 km² of striking desert landscapes, savannah grasslands, vast plains, and wetlands. At its heart flows the Kuiseb River, creating a natural divide between the arid northern plains and the towering dunes of the southern desert.

The park is home to a variety of desert-adapted wildlife, including gemsbok, springbok, zebras, and large flocks of ostriches. Birdwatching is particularly rewarding between September and March, when migratory species visit the region.

Easily accessible by road, Namib-Naukluft is a must-visit destination for travellers seeking dramatic scenery, unique ecosystems, and excellent photographic opportunities.
