Fish River Canyon

Fish River Canyon, part of the Richtersveld Transfrontier Park, is one of southern Africa’s most dramatic natural features. Stretching 161 kilometres in length and up to 27 kilometres in width, the canyon is carved by the Fish River, which flows into the Orange River and ultimately reaches the Atlantic Ocean.

The surrounding parkland showcases unique vegetation and a variety of wildlife adapted to the arid landscape. Activities in the area include guided game drives and scenic hikes, notably from Canyon Village up to a nearby mountain plateau, where sweeping views over the plains and canyon offer a truly memorable experience.

Fish River Canyon is accessible by road and is a popular stop for travellers exploring southern Namibia.
