Itinerary
Day 1-2
Today from Maun Airport, guests will be met and assisted with a connection onto a light aircraft flight to then head to Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp for a 2 night stay on fully inclusive basis.
Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp is situated on a private concession in the Okavango Delta well known for its elegant, tented accommodation with breathtaking views of the Okavango Delta. Guests can explore the crystal clear channels of the Delta on a mokoro or in a motorised boat, allowing them to view dozens of bird species, frogs and other intimate details of the Delta waiting to be explored at eye level. Drive or walk through mature mopane woodlands, seasonally flooded grasslands and the surrounding palm islands where gigantic jackalberry, sausage and wild fig trees grow. Impala, zebra, baboons, jackals and giraffes are common here, as are herds of elephant in the dry season. The area supports a large concentration of lechwe and buffalo, while roan and sable antelope roam the open woodlands. The riverine forest is home to prolific birdlife, including the elusive Pel’s fishing owl, and fruit bats are attracted to the abundant fig trees
Day 3-5
Today after morning activity and light breakfast, time permitting, guests will check out Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp and be assisted with a connection flight to Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge where they will stay for 3 nights on fully inclusive basis.
Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is built within a forested area of the Okavango Delta, next to a permanent waterway, the Santantadibe River (from where the lodge gets its name) – a deep, wide channel leading to several beautiful lagoons. Sandibe is populated by an abundant array of wildlife throughout the year. Activities at Sandibe include day and night 4×4 game drives, mokoro excursions and bush walks. Guests can enjoy boating trips in a specially designed ‘silent’ electric boat which takes them along the permanent waterways. Interpretive bush walks are in the care of a local San (Bushman) guide; this is a rare opportunity to learn traditional bush skills like making rope from the indigenous grasses, constructing traps, lighting fires using friction sticks and tracking animals.
Day 6-7
Today after morning activity and light breakfast, time permitting, guests will check out Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp and be assisted with a connection flight to Kasane Airport from where they will be met and by road will be transferred to Chobe Under Canvas where they will stay for 2 nights on fully inclusive basis.
Chobe Under Canvas is an exclusive tented safari camp set up on or close to the Chobe River situated northern part of Chobe National Park. Morning and afternoon game drives in a semi-open 4×4 vehicle will reveal the variety of Chobe’s vegetation and geological features, offering extreme contrasts and a fantastic cross-section of wildlife. A boat cruise along the Chobe River is a spectacular event with the opportunity to watch Africa’s wildlife, especially elephants and buffalo, from close quarters drinking at the water’s edge. Where possible, guided walking safaris are offered to guests. Chobe Under Canvas offers guests the opportunity to experience the authentic wilderness safaris of a bygone era with private wilderness campsites near the banks of the Chobe River while dining beneath the stars.
Day 8
Today after morning activity and light breakfast, time permitting, guests will check out Chobe Under Canvas and be transferred to the Kasane Airport well on time for an international connection flight, end of safari.
