savute safari lodge
Savute Safari Lodge Botswana is located in the Savuti region of Chobe National Park, a landscape known for shifting environments and legendary wildlife encounters. Famous for its predator dynamics, large elephant populations, and seasonal zebra migration, Savuti is one of Botswana’s most iconic safari destinations. At its heart lies the Savuti Channel, a sometimes-dry, sometimes-flowing river that shapes life across the region.
Perched on the edge of the channel and shaded by ancient camelthorn trees, Savute Safari Lodge Botswana offers an intimate and refined safari experience. The lodge accommodates just 24 guests across 11 thatched and canvas suites, as well as a family unit with two double bedrooms. As a result, it is well suited to both couples and families seeking a quieter safari setting.
Each suite is decorated in neutral tones that reflect the surrounding landscape. Rooms feature a combined bedroom and lounge area, a full en suite bathroom, and a spacious private deck. In addition, outdoor showers allow guests to enjoy a refreshing experience under open skies.
Meanwhile, the main lodge is built from timber and thatch and is thoughtfully designed across two levels. The upper level includes a cocktail bar and lounge that opens onto a wide viewing deck, ideal for sundowners and birdwatching. The lower level features a dining area, library, shaded daybeds, and a fireplace lounge. Meals are often served alfresco on the viewing deck, overlooking a waterhole regularly visited by elephant and antelope.
A raised swimming pool deck provides a quiet space to relax during the day, with sweeping views across the Savuti Channel. As a result, guests can enjoy a constant connection to the surrounding wilderness.

ACTIVITIES
Activities at Savute Safari Lodge Botswana focus on guided game drives in open 4×4 vehicles across the Savuti region. The area is well known for its large lion prides, often seen hunting buffalo, zebra, and other plains game.
During the summer months, typically between February and October, the zebra migration brings large herds into the Savuti Marsh. As a result, predator activity increases, creating dramatic and memorable wildlife encounters.
Game drives explore a variety of habitats, including open grasslands, marshes, rocky outcrops, and woodland. In addition, guests may encounter leopard, wild dog, hyena, elephant, giraffe, and a wide range of bird species.
For those interested in cultural history, visits to the San rock art at Gubatsa Hills can be arranged. These ancient paintings provide insight into the region’s early inhabitants and add depth to the overall safari experience.
