Rhino Safari Camp

Rhino Safari Camp is set within a private concession in the remote Matusadona National Park, offering a highly personalised, rustic yet comfortable safari experience. The camp blends harmoniously with its surroundings and provides guests with an unforgettable stay close to nature. Accommodation consists of seven en suite rooms inspired by the traditional building principles of the local Tonga people. Each room is elevated two metres above the ground, with extended thatch roofs to provide shade, reed half walls for privacy, and open fronts that frame breathtaking views of Lake Kariba and the wildlife wandering through camp.

The main boma is a two-storey, open-sided structure where guests can enjoy meals either upstairs or downstairs. The upper level features a comfortable lounge with spectacular lake views, while the ground level provides an inviting dining space. Evenings are often spent around the firepit in the open air, the perfect spot to relax with a drink and share safari stories. As the camp is completely unfenced, it is common to see elephants, hippos, and hyenas moving through the grounds, with occasional sightings of leopards and lions.

Facilities at Rhino Safari Camp include:

  • Seven en suite elevated rooms with lake views
  • Two-storey open-sided boma with dining and lounge areas
