Itinerary

Day 1-3

On arrival at Maun International Airport after clearing customs and immigration, guests will be met and assisted with a connection onto a scheduled charter flight to Chiefs camps where they will stay for 3 nights on fully inclusive basis.

Chief’s Camp is situated on the northeastern tip of the famous Chief’s Island in the Moremi Game Reserve, where the floodwaters generally infiltrate in June or July and remain for 4 to 5 months. Chief’s Island is considered to have the finest game viewing in southern Africa, home to the big five. Apart from predators, the area is also renowned for its large concentrations of plains game, elephants and buffalo. Game drives are conducted in custom-built 4×4 safari vehicles in the early morning and late afternoon by some of Botswana’s best professional guides. Mokoro activities explore the waterways at a gentle pace allowing guests to view birds and animals from a water level (This excursion is offered in high season only and is subject to water levels).

On this day after morning activity, time permitting guests will check out of Chiefs camp for flight transfer to Stanleys camp in the Okavango Delta where they will stay for 3 nights on fully inclusive basis.

Set in an arena of ebony and sausage trees on the southern tip of Chief’s Island, Stanley’s Camp accommodates only twenty guests. Stanley’s offers some of the best game viewing in the Okavango Delta, including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, lion, leopard, cheetah and the elusive wild dog. Guests staying at Stanley’s Camp will enjoy game drives in customised, open 4×4 vehicles – including the exciting opportunity of night drives. The evening drive starts after sundowner cocktails providing guests with a chance to spot nocturnal creatures, including hyenas and leopards. Walking safaris with an armed professional guide is a must for guests wanting to get a little closer and personal with the surrounding environment. When the water levels are high, guests can relax on a tranquil mokoro excursion through the narrow nearby channels. They can expect to see buffalos as they lap water from the river, watch crocodiles sunbathe on the banks or cruise past a bloat of hippos as they lie in a pool.

On this day after morning activity, time permitting,  guests will check out of Stanleys camp for flight transfer to Kasane airport from where they will be met and will be transferred by road to Chobe Chilwero where they will stay for 3 nights on fully inclusive basis.

The lodge sits above the Chobe River and offers unparalleled panoramic views of the islands and flood plains that stretch into Namibia. Guests at Chobe Chilwero will enjoy incredible wildlife sightings, elegant accommodations, silver service, gourmet meals and fine wines. Game activities at Chobe Chilwero are scheduled according to the changing habits of the game. Guided game drives in open 4×4 vehicles bring guests to Africa’s largest concentration of elephants in the Chobe National Park. Hippos, buffalo, puku, antelopes, lions and other animals that gather on the Chobe River’s banks may also be seen on the game drives. Enjoy water safaris on the Chobe River in specially adapted motorboats, of which the sundowner cruises are particularly spectacular on the Chobe River. The Chobe and Zambezi rivers are known for their excellent fishing, with more than 90 species of fish, so fishing excursions are also available at an additional cost. Although located in Botswana, Chobe Chilwero is easily accessed from the world-famous Victoria Falls, where guests can enjoy a day trip if desired, at an additional cost.

Final day of the safari, guests will check out Chobe Chilwero and be transferred by road to Kasane airport for onwards travel arrangement, end of safari
